Old Site History: Randy L. Aven started the England Manchester Mission Alumni web site in 1996 with an alumni database and the present Admin took over in April 2000 and added many options to bring it to its present state.
What?
Here you can talk about when you served and how it was for you. Did you have success? Were you enlightened? Did you touch anyone's life?

I served from Oct 1991 to Oct 1993. It was a fantastic experience, one that shaped the rest of my life forever. Terry R. Clegg was an inspiration in many ways to me, especially from the stand point of faith to believe at that time.
Most of the photos here were taken by me or submitted by other former EMM return missionaries. I have tried to list them where possible.
I maintain the current site (Now moved to this Thread). If you have pictures and / or stories to share please Reply. Some photos: Elder Borde - England Manchester Mission 91-93
[Archive for old site:] Recently this site has undergone some renovations to take out the frames and make the environment more user-friendly.
This Thread has quite a lot of content about the history of the Mission, but nothing much on the present. If you have just returned from this mission and would like to see the site updated please [REPLY]** in this Thread.

ON A MISSION
Source
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - David Hansen recently learned he would be serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Preston, England. Hansen will become one of 53,000 missionaries serving in more than 370 missions throughout the world. His parents, Kent and Paula Hansen, will be two others. They leave June 1 for a mission to Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia.
I came across this a few months ago and forgot to add it here:

LDS UK HISTORY LEADING UP TO EMM
This list will cover in part how the British Isles received their present day mission borders. Included in each mission entry is the number, in parenthesis, of the 'original' mission from which it was created, and, in the 'See also' entry, the numbers of the 'break-offs' missions that were created from divisions of this mission. Also included are the numbers of missions that this mission may have been transferred to when it was discontinued, and the number the mission was assigned when it was re-opened. You will also find links to those mission sites here.

Did you know that Pres. Hinckley once proselyted amongst the people in the area of what is now the England Manchester Mission? During my time there I was made to understand that he would call to find out how many baptisms took place in Preston, England.
