The high court ruled 6-3 that people who smoke marijuana because their doctors recommend it to ease pain can be prosecuted for violating federal drug laws.

Smoking Medical Marijuana (Hover)
No suprise to me on this one. It is all about the federal government usurping states' rights. As far as I am concerned, this subject should actually be a state issue, and even the states should leave it up to local authorities. And that actually applies to ALL marijuana use, not just medical use.
EDITORIAL: A GOOD MARIJUANA DECISION
When Congress passed the Comprehensive Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Act in 1970, it did so with good reason. The federal government saw an obvious need to consolidate the many and varied drug laws that existed among the states, recognizing that drug abuse and the international drug trade were matters of national significance.
