EU: Discussion about Great Britain's (Traditional) discount
There is continued bickering over the EU-Budget 2007 to 2013. Britain's Prime Minister Blair turned a deaf ear to renewed appeals by French head of state Chirac, asking Great Britain to do without their discount on EU-membership fees - something worth billions of euros - or at least be prepared to compromise. Without that, there will be no agreement on the Budget 2007 to 2013. Germany and France were prepared to compromise, though all would need to give.

I don't think that the UK should be involved in the EU. Britain currently has almost the strongest, if not THE strongest economy in Europe. Germany and France have just about the poorest economies, due to their extremely business hostile policies.
Britain should keep their rebate coming, if only to point out how weak the EU is economically.
