It seems like it was inevitable. Crime being low has been a highlight in Canada for a while. When ever there are comparisons between the USA and Canada, the crime rate difference is always pointed out. Its never a good trend to see the crime rate go up. That means people aren't happy. They are getting poorer and often desperate. Wealthy, happy citizens rarely commit crimes because they don't have to. But then, murder is still murder no matter how much money you have. You never really HAVE to kill someone, thats a matter of a violent nature.
