Nude Sculpture?
If someone were to take a picture in the nude it is considered pornography. If a professional photographer takes the same picture then it is considered artistic nude and if an artist were to paint or sculpt the same pose then it would be considered art. What do you think about art in the nude? It seems that if it is more than 200 years old then it is okay, but anything in modern days is considered bad. How do you look at it?
There's a huge difference between artistic nudity and pornographic nudity. I don't think that all nude photos today are pornographic. I saw a nude photo in my running magazine that didn't show any of the key body parts but instead showcased this particular runner's powerful body. It was a very beautiful photograph to me, although some found it offensive.
I think anything that is meant to show the beauty and power of a person's body is art. Anything that shows a person's body in a way that is meant to excite a person sexually is porn. IMO.

As for art, it's all "in the eye of the beholder" in my opinion. Some people can make porn out of anything, no matter how innocent, beautiful, or sacred that thing may be.
Porn is really easy to spot, especially these days. Just advertising in these modern times has become pornographic -- have you seen the ads all over the 'net for lingerie, dieting aids, sports, cars -- you name it, almost everything has some type of base sexual connotation. It's horrible.
Art has it's own place culturally -- there are some beautiful sculptures of nudes that I don't believe were intended to be in any way shocking or sexual in context -- they were created to honor the human body in a state of perfection. However, we have become a people so attuned to sexual things that it is difficult for some to separate that from their consciousness. Some literally cannot look upon *any* naked flesh, in any form, without become aroused. It's a very sad, and scary, commentary on our world today.
In my opinion, of course.

It didn't occur to me that "we" could "do" anything about it -- I don't think there is a solution to this question. There will always be art, in one form or another, and there will always be the "low" side of life. We cannot prevent either one. We can only do as our own consciences dictate.
IMO
