Martin Luther King, Jr.
Martin Luther King, Jr., (January 15,1929-April 4, 1968) was born Michael Luther King, Jr., but later had his name changed to Martin. His grandfather began the family's long tenure as pastors of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, serving from 1914 to 1931; his father has served from then until the present, and from 1960 until his death Martin Luther acted as co-pastor. Martin Luther attended segregated public schools in Georgia, graduating from high school at the age of fifteen; he received the B. A. Degree in 1948 from Morehouse College, a distinguished Negro institution of Atlanta from which both his father and grandfather had been graduated. After three years of theological study at Crozer Theological Seminary in Pennsylvania where he was elected president of a predominantly white senior class, he was awarded the B.D. In 1951. With a fellowship won at Crozer, he enrolled in graduate studies at Boston University, completing his residence for the doctorate in 1953 and receiving the degree in 1955 In Boston he met and married Coretta Scott, a young woman of uncommon intellectual and artistic attainments. Two sons and two daughters were born into the family.

Both Hoover and Senator Ezra Taft Benson referred to King as the most notorious liar in the country - a sentiment that, based on what I have read, is well founded. He surrounded himself with communists, and did many things which would be hard to consider exemplary.

I was recently watching a documentary about Martin Luther King Jr. in which he was accused of being a communist and immoral (they claimed he had several unidentified women in his hotel room during a 17 hour period) through the 'illegal' FBI recon done, called, 'Operation Zorro', on a hotel he was staying in during time spent in Washington DC. Did King really plot with Communists to get into government or was it all a setup to make King fall?

FAMILY FEUD, NEW BOOK PULL AT KING'S LEGACY
On what would have been Martin Luther King Jr.'s 77th birthday, his legacy is under attack and its greatest defender is unable to speak.

Wether Martin Luther King is portrayed as a womanizer, a communist, etc. You cannot argue with the fact that he did change the world. People who do not like what he did will seek to change history, or his-story.
Martin Luther King did so much good in his life, and should be remembered for that good, just as all of us would hope to be remembered. I am not saying that we should forget his faults, I just don't think they should be his legacy.

Or are the people who do not like what he did actually trying to get at the truth rather that what is taught as history? It's all a matter of opinion, but my opinion is the same as three good contemporaries of King who all held King to be the most notorius liar in the country - and as to what was "achieved" well a vast increase in federal power and littl ein the way of the protection of genuine rights...

In what specific ways did he lie publicly as opposed to personally living a double life? Was his leading of the Black movement of any worthy cause for freedom?
