There probably won't be that many repercussions as Canada and Iran don't do that much trade. It seems to be pointless posturing as they didn't get rid of the embassy, just the ambassador. Expect everything to go back to normal when Iran appoints a new ambassador to Canada. As for relations overall, they have gone from bad to bad.

I wouldn't be shocked if the person that they (Iran) was promoting to the position of ambassador to Canada had a bit too much military/intelligence experience and was a obvious plant. The ambassador position has long been a favorite for intelligence gathering. I can only guess that both of these positions are of interest to the US as well (Canadian and Iranian ambassadors).

There have been several reports out recently about the Sumpreme Leader's disenchantment with Amadinejad time spent taunting the west and not fixing the economy. The economy was the platform by which Amadinejad got elected...not a promise to build nuclear weapons or tick off the west. He has failed pretty miserably at getting the economy under control, but has been utterly fantastic at getting much of the world's attention in regards to being a threat to peace.

In this case, even though I may disagree with the Supreme Leader on many of his thoughts, it is good to see someone looking out for ALL of his people, even the ones in tiny remote villages.

Gosh, Iran is not a place I would ever want to visit or live! Imagine, prison time and lashes for walking your dog outside. spock.gif

QUOTE
A 70-year-old Iranian man was arrested and sentenced to four months in jail and 30 lashes for walking his dog, Adnkronos.com reported Tuesday. Police caught the man on the street with his dog in Shahr Rey, a suburb of Tehran.

Owners of domestic animals are forbidden from taking them on the streets of the city because Islam considers dogs to be impure. An Islamic judge later charged the man for "disturbing the public order," Adnkronos.com reported.

Despite repeated warnings by the police, dog owners continue to defy authorities by taking their dogs outside their homes. Typical punishment for people caught with dogs outside is a fine or the "detention" of their animals in a pound, Adnkronos.com reported....

Of course they are barred from running Hello he is a dictator in a dictatorship. He will say they have had elections to try to hide the fact that it is a dictatorship and he will win a reelection by a large margin. I guess he thinks the world is stupid.

Well...another 3000 centrifuges for peaceful power. Amazing that they have this many centrifuges and no operational reactors...

If they hit that goal of +50,000 centrifuges, the price of weapons grade fuel should drop tremendously. How nice?
