Paper Pencil Games

Pencil and paper games were cool in elementary school but that like kind of dropped when I got my first portable. I can't remember when last I played a game using paper.

Games With Pencil And Paper Reviews RPG & Card Board

I continue to play simple pencil and paper games with some of the young kids who go out with us to places. I find it a great way to keep them entertained without getting in trouble by their parents. Plus it gives their parents a short break as I play tic tac toe and other games with them.

Paper Pencil Games

I've still kept a few of these alive over the years, though they are admittedly getting more and more rare. The one I've taught to my cousins most is "war", which is where two players divide a piece of paper in half, one side draws nine stars and the other person draws nine "corn dogs" for their army units.

You take turns drawing a small dark point on your side of the battlefield, then folding the paper over and coloring the other side of your paper, on the back of your point you drew - it will "bleed through" to the opponent's side of the battlefield, and if it touches one of their units, you've eliminated one of the enemy. I wonder if that book has anything like that in it. Probably too violent, but I wonder if that game is in any book nowadays.

I'd be interested to see what games the book DOES have - as KNtoran mentioned, tic-tac-toe always comes to mind, as does hangman, and maybe one other I'm blanking on, and I think I've seen 3d naughts and crosses... Letter strings I can kind of guess... But there's still like a dozen more? That could be pretty neat.
