I will have to look up what this 'suicide rule' is, but Americans are working until they have nothing left to give, which of course leads to this type of thing. I know my husband is struggling through something close to this right now. The feeling of having nothing else to do but work until you die is very real. With rising costs and wages not really going anywhere, I know we're struggling with depression even more than we were before.
