The CDC advises against travel for Thanksgiving, the latest and most high-profile recommendation as COVID-19 cases surge nationwide. During a briefing Thursday, Dr. Henry Walke, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s COVID-19 incident manager, said the agency is "Recommending against travel during the Thanksgiving period." Trump will pardon turkey from Iowa. President Donald Trump will pardon an Iowa bird on Tuesday at the White House. Turkey producers Ron and Susie Kardel of Walcott raised this year's "Presidential flock," including the two turkeys chosen to travel to Washington, D.C.
