In my house, the dish washer has become a nice little temporary holding house for the dishes if you don't want to put them away. I still love hearing my wife tell me that I have to wash the dishes off before I put them in the dish washer. However, I do realize that with a dish washer, I don't have to put the dishes up!
FarSeer said it for me. I don't have enough dishes to warrant using the dishwasher that's in my apartment. If I did, by the time it was full and I felt I could run it with a clear conscious, I would be out of dishes! I only have about four of everything -- so, it's silly for me. Of course, if I had a great big house with one of those machines that does all the cleaning for you, really Hi-tech, I might change my mind, right? Probably not! :laughs:

When you have only two people in the house, I can't imagine needing to use a dishwasher. |
I don't really wash the dishes before the dishwasher washes them, I just rinse them off, as someone mentioned. I like my dishwasher but I could live without it.

I always assumed that because the dishes are washed and/or dried at such a hot temperature, that they are basically sanitized along the way. Maybe I'm wrong, but I hope not because that's one of the features of a dishwasher that I like the most! |
Some of your points were kind of funny but there is one other things that a dishwasher can do like;
It can clean the dishes more thoroughly
You can leave them there to dry on their own
When it comes to big parties its a life saver!
I have a dishwasher. If you ask me the last time I used it, I'll probably look at you funny. I never use it, because often I only have a few dishes to clean. I live with one other person, so we don't make that much of a mess. I don't like loading up the dishwasher during the week and doing a load when its full, because very often I'll run out of plates. For parties though, I can see its practicality. For everyday life though, it just takes too long to work.
The dishwasher trick that will blow your mind. AN Irish man realised he had been using his dishwasher the wrong way "For 10 years" before a small change made a very big difference, and sent social media into meltdown. Source 1a.
