Governor Snyder signed the Rape Survivor Child Custody Act into law on May 3. The new law helps prevent a rapist from gaining custody of a child. The law was included in a larger package of bills addressing domestic violence that Governor Snyder also signed. Ref. Source 6y.
Judge Gives Convicted Rapist Custody of Woman’s Son After She Refused Abortion. If you haven’t been following the news, a Sanilac County judge granted custody to a convicted rapist for a child he conceived following the 2008 abduction, torture, and rape of a young girl. Source 4t.
This is so wrong. Now the rapist gets to see his son and remind the woman who was abducted tortured and raped of his presence every time he comes to get the child. Talk about her having to relive the trauma she went through with this guy now she has to see him over and over again.
