Parenting: Toughest Job In The World
Is Parenting really the Toughest Job in the World?
The foundations of parenting
A team of researchers exploring the genetics underpinning parenting behaviors, found not only that different genes may influence behaviors in males and females, but that the gene for the hormone vasopressin appears to be closely tied to nest-building behavior in parenting mice. Ref. Source 8y.
Parenting is very rewarding and also the hardest job in the world. To raise a child from infancy all the way to adulthood takes a lot of time and patience. Plus a few threats here and there to keep them on a good track. Even then you can never be sure if you raised them as well as you hope you did.
I also know that bringing up children has to be part of your DNA. If it was not then how would we know to nurture and care for our young to see that they develop into good people?
