Rain, O sweet rain
Rain, O sweet rain, pour your bitter taste of misery on my heart, tell me where you have been.
You've travelled with the clouds across endless, lonely fields to become what you are now.
You've seen the people, their twisted hearts, you've seen through each and every mask, you tried to wake them with gentle rain, but they turned away and numbed you with pain.
At last you struck with apathy and drowned this world in agony.
But even as an enemy, your raindrops cooled my burning skin, your heart remains a remedy, even though your fate looks dim.
Rain, O sweet rain, give me all your misery, let me carry it, for I know you will fade and the sun will replace this weeping, heavy sky with wretched, deceptive light.
