Yes I have a few phobias: germs, insects with long stick like legs and needles.
When I was very young, my parents would usually devise a plan, on how to carry me to the health care centre for my booster shots. One day, my father had a fantastic idea! He decided to lie and say that he was carrying me to the supermarket to buy my favourite candy. Well being only five years old at the time, I naively fell for this line. I became very concerned when I realised that we passed the supermarket and I began to ask why. I cannot remember what he said at the time but whatever it was, I accepted his response. Then, I saw the health care center in the distance and I became very scared. My eyes were filled with water and I began to panic. I knew that I was not going to the supermarket! My father tricked me and was really carrying me for an injection. He saw how frightened I was and he gently reassured me that he would hold my hand and after the injection, we would go for ice cream. It took him 15 minutes to convince me to get out of the car. I trembled all the way to the health care center. Strangely enough, I was unnaturally calm, as I stood in line, waiting patiently for my turn. After 10 minutes, I noticed that there was a two month old infant in line ahead of me. I remember peering at the poor baby and seeing him writhing a lot and crying after the booster shot was administered. At that point, I began to scream. My father and the nurse became alarmed since they thought I fell down or something stung me. The mere sight of the baby receiving the injection and crying, served as a forerunner to the pain that I would be experiencing. My father was very embarrassed after he realised why I was screaming. Many mothers came forward and tried to console me but to no avail....
I still hate needles. I don't cry anymore though. I just turn my head in the opposite direction and bite my lower lip very hard...

Comments: I generally have a great fear of spiders. I can deal with the micro ones but anything bigger than my thumb absolutely freaks me out!
I have some of the usual phobias: don't like roaches crawling on me or seeing any kind of spider bigger than a quarter. The really small spiders don't bother me.
