A Gift to You - Page 5

There are so many nice things that others have done for me and my family. I am going to give two examples that are the nicest things that someone has done for me. As mentioned earlier in this thread, people sometimes do nice things for me everyday that I might not even notice. For that reason, I think it's important for me to take time to think about the nice things that others do and have done for me, to be grateful for those nice acts, and to let them know that I am grateful. Often it is the everyday kindnesses that can mean so much.

*My friend helped me to find the church that I now belong to and the knowledge that I have been blessed with about so many things has come as a direct result of my membership in this church.

*My dear husband found in me the things that he loved and needed for himself and became my best friend and husband.

Offtopic but,
This is an interesting thread. I love this topic.

You Gift A

Okay I have one.

I come from a long line of migraine sufferers. There were times that I stopped eating because the pain from the migraine was so intense. My doctor once pointed out to me that I should stay away from dairy products since this may trigger a severe migraine attack. Of course, being a big fan of dairy products, this request seemed very unreasonable.

I remember consuming a lot of my favourite snack, chocolate, a few days before I went on a date. During what was turning out to be a wonderful evening, I got a severe migraine attack. My vision became very blurred and unfortunately, I started throwing up. My date was alarmed and thought I had food poisoning but I slowly explained (while I was in pain) that I was suffering from a migraine attack. He felt helpless and did not know what to do. He gently asked if there was any special medication that I took for the migraine and I moaned and said no, I just need to rest in a dark room.

Well the evening ended abruptly and I thought that my date was carrying me home. He stopped off at a pharmacy and then drove for about twenty minutes and parked his car in the middle of nowhere. He got out of the car and seemed to be fiddling around with something in his car trunk. Eventually, he came to the front seat where I was sitting and lifted me out. Before I had time to ask where we were, he placed his finger on my lips and gently asked me to stay still. I saw a cot and he proceeded to put me on it and told me to lie down, which I did. He lifted my head and placed it on his lap. He asked me to close my eyes which I did and then I felt something cold, wet and yet the smell was so familiar. He was dabbing my forehead with Limacol, which I sometimes used as a way to forget the pain of the migraine. At that moment, he whispered to me to open my eyes. I slowly opened my eyes and saw a beautiful view of the moon. I never asked where we were but I realised why we were here. My boyfriend carried me to a place where he knew I feel relaxed and comfortable. He showed me how big and beautiful the stars were and by distracting me with the beauty of nature, I almost forgot about my migraine. I always remember that particular night as if it were yesterday...

Oh yes, what happened to the guy? Well I married him! wink.gif

A Gift to You Health & Special Psychology

A few weeks after I was laid off in March, one of my coworkers brought over a week's worth of food for me. I had been telling just a few days before the lay off that my husband and I were struggling with money and trying to find a way to get more food before I was forced to stay home for six weeks.

I cried a little.
