Are Singles Stereotyped?
Are people who are single generally stereotyped by those who are married?
Oh, Question! You hit the "hot button" issue with this one!
In my experience as a single Christian woman, I will have to answer, "Yes, quite often." We are typically stereotyped as desperate, home wreckers, "weird," losers, over-sexed, and certainly less than capable. Our children are often labeled as less desirable companions for "married" families' children, simply because they have only one parent.
No, it doesn't happen all the time, but often enough for it to be noticeable. Sad, yes, but too often true.
