I did not say Noah was insane. I said by todays standards he would be considered insane. I also went on to explain the difference of times and that Noah was in a "different boat" than us, so to speak.

According to the story he invited everyone, and they laughed at him. On the flip side we can't jump on the boat of any crazy who claims the end is near. However if I was Noah, I have no doubt I would do it. Is that insane? By whose standards? Did God not warn everyone countless times.

This is obviously a hard question to answer one hundred percent accurately. There are strong arguments either way. I would have to say at the end of the day I think God gave many chances to the masses for repentance. Whether Noah pushed the button or Joe Nobody, it was going to be pushed. One can only tap dance on a mine so long before it detonates.

Literalists who sell God as a God of love after He uses genocide on us are droll.

The mechanics of the flood are irrelevant.

The myth, and it is just a myth, not real, but even if real, must be judged by it's moral value.

That is what will decide if God would ever do such a heinous crime and sin.

How would it look to all the other Gods in His species to see Him have to resort to genocidal fits, to bring His pets to heel.

They would laugh Him out of heaven for God's sake.

Anyway, if you believe in fantasy and the flood as real, then you would know that God does not punish.

If required, He just makes an adjustment to your thinking and BINGO, all is cured.

God does not KILL, any of the perfections that surrounds Him.

He cures them.
