Business Practices of Religious People
One thing that highly irritates me is when someone some professes some religious aspect of their life and yet when it comes to doing business they are deceitful and dishonest. Somehow, I find some people that surround themselves with 'spirituality' think that it is OK to cheat others and still deem themselves 'worthy'. It is one of the things I dislike about religion in general.
I agree, it's frustrating to hear one thing at church, yet the exact opposite at work. Not to get too political, but when Mitt Romney ran for president, there were several articles in different magazines that stated how he "hid" money from taxes, and how he showed other business leaders, who were also Mormon, how to hide money too.
There's a great quote from a Mormon business man that I like,
There is another way to look at this that I feel is just so dishonest... Selling religion for money. I mean its like you're just telling people what they want to hear and then ask them for a fee for that. What makes that any different from a fortune teller or palm reader, kind of the same to me.
