Deism - Deist - Deists
What exactly is Deism and does it have any familiarity to Christian beliefs?
If it is the same way it is used in most other forums and people I talk to:
Theism - the belief in a God who is still interactive within the everyday lives of Man
Deism - the belief in a God as a First Cause but who is no longer involved in Man's affairs
I myself find either one insufficient to define my own viewpoint, which is more agnostic, though there does seem to be a certain harmony and pattern to life that sometimes seems to be 'active' and fluid, and touching peoples' lives in a visible way - but I have no idea if that is the case, or if that same "force" created everyone, or does or doesn't interfere in our lives, etc. If a God exists at all, and is not just hopeful misidentification by some - I don't think anyone or anything created "everything", I think it has always "been".
