Hypnosis is nothing more than a suggestion to the mind but for it to work the participant being 'hypnotize' has to allow the suggestion to take control. You need a willing participant for it work and for me its nothing more than a relaxation session to try and jog your memory but you could do that on your own if you learn how to calm yourself to the point that you experience free thought.
Skeptic but you can agree that once someone is allowing the suggestions that they are in fact hypnotized, right?
Not really since for any suggestions to the mind has to come though a willing conscious receiver first. You don't even need to be hypnotized to accomplish that. The same is don when a really good commercial gets you to go out and buy their product.
