What is your opinion about the statement Ann Coulter gave?
QUOTE |
Coulter made the remarkable statements during an often heated appearance to promote her new book on advertising guru Danny Deutsch's CNBC show "The Big Idea." In response to a question from Deutsch asking Coulter if "it would be better if we were all Christian," the controversial columnist responded: "Yes." "We should all be Christian?" Deutsch repeated. "Yes," Coulter responded, asking Deutsch, who is Jewish, if he would like to "come to church with me." Deutsch, pressing Coulter further, asked, "We should just throw Judaism away and we should all be Christians?" She responded: "Yeah." Coulter deflected Deutsch's assertion that her comments were anti-Semitic, matter-of-factly telling the show's obviously upset host, "That is what Christians consider themselves: perfected Jews." |
I have no problem with this.
If you truly believe your religion, then it is natural that you would think the world a better place if people were part of it. She did not say that people should be made to be Christian only that it would be better if everyone were a Christian.
Any person who truly thought their religion was the correct one would want more adherents. It is just that most people do not have the bravery, audacity, or whatever it is called to tell people what Coulter said.
As to the term "Christians being perfected Jews" I have never met a Perfected 'any religion'.
Name: edouard
Comments: Perfected, in an absolute sense, should be about wisdom in thought, word and deed. It is through daily striving we achieve this 'perfection'.
Having the designation of Christian is no guarantee of anything!
