Xiiva Introduction

Hello!

I'm joining because I'm interested in playing ROK II. I've played some MUD and MUSH games in the past, and I'm looking for something different/similar to get into. I've got a hankering to do some writing roleplay that's a bit slower paced.

I'm a fan of Dungeons & Dragons and really enjoy the character building aspect of it. I like coming up with backstory and creating a character around certain traits (Respecting strength above all, fleeing as a first option, etc), and then seeing how that character fares in the face of what the game world throws at them. I think it's interesting to create a different mental framework for my characters, and then making my mind think through these different paths of principles, problem solving, and values. It highlights different perspectives in a more intimate way in my opinion.

I really like medieval/fantasy style settings, and like them over something like being in space, or being in a modern setting. I grew up reading fantasy books (Redwall series, Tamora Pierce books, Rowan of Rin series) so I think it's just a cozy setting to be in.

I'm excited to see how ROK II plays, and creating a character for that!

Introduction Xiiva

Welcome adventurer. The current RPG in this Community is Ruler of Kings II which is a custom text based RPG and while similar to Dungeons & Dragons it is an independent and self-regulating role-playing system. I dare say, for the purpose of solo online entertainment while still maintaining a detailed character and imaginative development you will find that ROK II is far more diverse and engaging as a text RPG.
