That is how I feel in general. I understand that there is much worse poverty around the world than what I will ever see personally, but it seems to me I should take care of my own family (country) before helping someone elses. I don't mean to not offer any help until I am 100% where I want to be, but I do have a responsibility to be sure my own family members aren't starving before I give food to someone else. A little hunger I can live with and still share, but starving to death isn't acceptable. There is a sense in the rest of the world that the US is so rich. Well by their standards we are. However, many in this country go to bed hungry every day or die of diseases that could have been treated if they had enough money for proper medical care. |
Offtopic but,
It looks that you are under a lot of stress ... don't be so hard on yourself ... it's not doing you no good |

MANY USE DEBT AS TOOL TO CATCH UP, MOVE UP
In 1757, Benjamin Franklin wrote, "Better to go to bed supperless, than wake up in debt." One of his modern-day namesakes hasn't heeded the admonition. Benjamin Franklin Baggett of Salt Lake City got his first credit card on his honeymoon in 1990 and promptly maxed out his $300 credit line.
