He Is Good, He Is The Stake President

Sometimes on my conversations with people I often hear statements like that "Oh, he is a nice man... He is the bishop" or "yes, you can trust him he is the stake president" and so forth. What I'm getting at is why do we make a connection between a person's character and the calling they hold you know what am I saying? Or is it that we think the higher the calling the worthy someone is?

President Stake Is Good He

Generally bishops and stake presidents are vetted somewhat by virtue of holding that office, they are married, they are usually well known by the person who called them. This is only a general statement though. I'm not saying that bad apples don't exist.

Maybe it is because most members in the Church think that higher the calling, the more "trustworthy" the person is. Of course, this is a total fallacy. I keep my relationships with people all at the same level (Including leaders), basically I trust no one fully unless I prove otherwise.
