Comments: don't get me wrong. This isn't about mis-furtunes. I have alot of blessings from this and continue too. During this whole thing I got the opportunity to feed the missionaries every week. They became part of my family. I still follow them on [another social network]. I asked for nothing in return for that. I served my ward by being the snow removal coordinator without haste. I was even out here removing the snow at 11pm on the weeks or nights it wasnt my turn. Seemed some of them just couldnt see their way to doing their part. This post was intended to bring to light the UNWILLINGNESS of my area leaders who yes are human and not making mistakes but just REFUSE to help unless your attending services. Once is a mistake, but a continued mistake is a down right REFUSAL. It must be a head count thing in the chapel I guess. Well you won't see my head in there to be counted. I will talk to my heavenly father in my house and I know he will listen.

Welfare Who Decide Bishop The How

Thats not always the case, you don't even have to be a member to receive help from the church. I know my ward helps several families that aren't members. They also refuse to help several member families because they won't give up certain things like there satellite tv, one of there three cars etc. Its unfortunate when someone like yourself falls through the cracks but trust me there are far more people who abuse the system. Did you know the church uses more of the fast offering money from south America in north America than it sends to south America.

Comments: Words out of the Missionaries mouth when I asked why isn't my wife (Who doesnt have a car who has never driven) isn't getting the help. I quote " Her Unwillingness to attend services" Elder Steven Walkey. Funny thing is that the missionaries don't even come to my place anymore.

Comments: I am sorry that you feel the Church let you down. I don't mean to sound harsh but if you and your wife were not attending services. I feel the Bishopric has the right to call you on it. They have your soul welfare to consider. I know in my ward if you are unable to get a ride one will be provided. I hope that you understand by withdrawing from the Church you are losing your blessings.

that was a bit unnecessary; this kind of information has likely been relayed to him by his bishop - the person whom the church has appointed to deliver such information, and you are probably well aware that this is the case. There are much kinder and more Christlike ways for a member, who has not been given the authority to judge, to aide their fellow man than to make accusations of spiritual worthiness.

But the point is not whether the Bishopric can tell them they are not attending Church but whether they have the right or not to withhold food on the reason they do not attend Church services.

They absolutely have the right to withhold food, they don't have to stop giving food but they can, the bishopric is not obligated to give assistance even if they are attending.

Let me rephrase then so I can understand your position. SHOULD they withhold food from someone who is in need on the basis they do not attend church services?
