Sounds interesting. I think it's not unreasonable at all to factor in a candidate's religion when deciding who to vote for. Religion is one of those things that will inform a person's politics. Where people go wrong is not understanding or knowing the truth about said religion.

How do I explain Mitt Romney and Harry Reid being on different sides of the political spectrum? Harry Reid is does not believe in/has apostatized from his stated religion. I suppose he could be ignorant about his own religion, but I find that unlikely.

They are neutral with respect to which party you should vote for, but they do take a position on moral issues, such as gay marriage. That is not just a political issue but a moral issue as well.
