Speaking in generalities, I find no discomfort in the discussion. I feel the discomfort when I say Elder so and so or sister whoever is guilty of focusing on the outward too much. I am not sure that I have all of the information or the inspiration as pertaining to particular individuals to make this assumption.

As to the next part of the discussion, concerning the particular profession or socio-background the leaders of the Church come from: I do not believe that because an Apostles happens to be a Doctor, Lawyer, Airline pilot, Educator, etc became such, because they are successful individuals outside of the Church. I think they are faithful members of the Church who have been blessed in all aspects of their lives, and because of their faithfulness, have been called to leadership positions.

The only criteria a leader should be chosen on, is if they are faithful to the Lord or not and are willing to serve where asked. If they happen to be rich, poor, a businessman or a labour, matters little I believe.

Rather off topic, but... I for one believe most sane people do not aspire for leadership positions in the Church. I am currently a primary teacher, teaching 9 year olds, and that job suites me fine. I would suspect most members are satisfied with the positions that they are given, and many leaders envy the Primary teacher or scout leader. I think the phenomenon of people who aspire for leadership positions is rare in the Church, but I may be naive.

I think I may re-evaluate this Topic after watching a documentary about the Soviet Union called 'The Soviet Story' featured More Info. Mass murders have to be the worst sinners. I'm talking about men who will kill millions for the simplest things like their race, their class or just because they want to 'clear' a location.
