Mormon Marriage And Adult Movies

Here is a question a few couple friends of mine have asked me. Is it ok for married couples to view adult movies together? I know the obvious answers about pornography. However, the church doesn't really get involved in the bedroom. I personally told them I don't think so. Personally, as a couple we have movies that instruct on massage, but there is no n-dity.

Just thought I would throw that out there and see what other people think!

Adults movies whether they are watch as a couple or not are considered Pornography. The Prophet have counseled us against this evil.

Why would viewing pornography in any form be okay as a couple if it's not okay individually? No one needs to have those images in their minds. Would a person feel comfortable taking the sacrament or going to the temple after having watched something pronounced evil by a prophet of God? Not in my opinion.

I have to agree with LDS_Forever and FarSeer. If pornography is wrong for the individual, then would it not be doubly wrong for the couple?
I do not remember the Prophet stating "except for couples" when counseling us to avoid pornography at all costs.
By bringing this into your relationship, you are opening the door to a whole host of problems, possibly leading to one (or both) of you becoming addicted to it. I cannot find the source, but I recall a story of a married couple that decided to try adult movies, and one of them became so addicted to porn, that the marriage eventually ended.

I can see a twisted logic to the rationalization. Sex outside marriage is wrong. In the instant case, the sex is occurring in marriage, and the spouses considered it and deemed it okay.

The First Presidency has also opined that certain sexual practices are immoral. That letter has never been revoked (though it is no longer pushed forward).

Nonetheless, I would think the answer is no, because there is harm caused in the creation of these movies. It is NOT just a personal decision between two spouses (unless it is their own movie).

Now THAT is another question...

JoJo, the church does not get 'in' your bedroom but even there the leaders have set guidelines about what should and shouldn't be and they have always made it clear what they think about pornography.
