I love the hypocrisy of both parties. The Democrats are screaming about how the Republicans are doing this same thing in Texas. They are thinking of challenging it in court. And then bam… here they go doing it themselves. One thing is for sure, both parties are only there to maintain their power and I'm not sure they give a hoot about average Americans any more… as long as they win elections.
I think that any bill that is introduced to help a certain party win in any election should be banned and the ones who wrote or pushed for the bill needs to be relieved of their office. Maybe if this happened in California other states would see and stiop all the nonsense. All this shows the common people is that our system is broke.
KN,
It is and it is a sin. It's been broken for a long time. We have career politicians and it was never supposed to be that way. How can these politicians make decisions for me and you when they have no idea what it's like to be me and you. After all the time they sent being a politician they forget. What's worse, when the new people get there they get immediately swarmed so that they fall into the same way of doing things… well, usually but not all the time.
Also, we need politicians from all walks of life. We need some from the military so they can appreciate what it means to send folks to war. We need teachers so they understand what it's like to teach our kids. We need some from unions so they know what it's like to fight for workers. We need some small business owners so they know what Federal policies do to make it harder or easier to succeed. We need some from large business for the same reasons. We need doctors so they can help with healthcare. We need IT people so they can help there… especially where our abysmal security is concerned. And this goes on and on, construction workers you name it.
Instead, we have a ruling class now who has no idea what it's like to be normal. And what's worse, they write laws to entrench themselves in power. Heck, they write laws exempting themselves from the very taxes and rules, like EO hiring practices, that we have to follow. What is that?
That is what happens when you get a bunch of lawyers in politics so they can write laws and things that are very hard to follow and works to their advantage with the common people being none the wiser. It is sad that places like California and other states would continue to break the system for their own pocket books instead of working to fix the issues so that people of their state understand at trust them more.
Just maybe and I say maybe if that would start to happen in California then maybe it will start to happen in other states and then in the federal government itself.
A swing House district north of Los Angeles is up for grabs Tuesday in a special election that has garnered attention. Republican Mike Garcia and Democrat Christy Smith will face off in California's 25th District for the seat vacated by Katie Hill when she resigned late last year before completing her first term. Virtually all voters were expected to mail in ballots due to the coronavirus outbreak, though some polling places are available for those who wish to vote in-person. Ref. USAToday.
