All Those Going To Hell

Comments: In the Book of Revelation 21:8 this is what it says;
The bible also says that whoever believed in Jesus would be saved from hell. I think (if you believe in this) you have to use some discernment. I don't picture God as a guy with his finger on the trigger ready to blow everyone away to hell. I picture him more as an understanding and forgiving God, if your heart is in the right place.
Therefore in many cases I would say that a person is not heading directly to hell.
If you as an individual truly wish to change for the good and make a real effort day to day. It is my opinion that you are on your way to heaven, regardless of all the other stuff.
I think hell is reserved for those who have no intention of being good. There is a difference between being human and messing up and being a truly evil person.
Much of the bible can be very heavy handed and final. You have to keep in mind though the age in which it was written (by men). If you look at what Jesus said when he spoke you get a different picture of who will be in heaven and who will be in hell.
One instance that comes to mind and is a good example is when the prostitute was going to be stoned by the public. Jesus came forward and said, "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." No one threw a single stone and later he spoke with the prostitute. Telling her that her actions were sinful but if she ceased from that lifestyle she would have a place in heaven.
Note that he did not say if you stop being a prostitute on Sundays you'll be fine. He didn't say if you stop being a prostitute and exchange that for lying you'll be fine. Many times people will fool themselves into thinking they have made and effort and changed. When in actuality they are trying to "beat the system" and just go along, running threw the motions.
Both you and God know if you are really making an effort and truly setting yourself along the right path, don't kid yourself.
