Comments: Why does the genealogy of Jesus from the Bible differ between the gospels?
The gospel of Matthew list the genealogy of Joseph. The gospel of Luke list the genealogy of Mary, Joseph was actually Heli's son-in-law. Both genealogies lead back to king David
which fulfills Bible prophesy, in that the messiah would come from David's family linage.

Comments: Jesus' genealogy was mentioned in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke only. Matthew lists 26 forefathers from Joseph to David and Luke has 41 forefathers. Now here is the interesting part... Joseph matches with Joseph in those two listsbut no other name does. Maybe one of the lines is really listing Mary's forefathers.
