Mitt Romeny Handling Religious Questions - Page 2

QUOTE
He said, "You haven't got those doctrines exactly right...", but when I listened to it again I do not see where she did not get it right, we do believe those things.

Remember he is talking about the Church and not his personal belief. Brigham Young, Joseph Smith and a lot of other Prophets openly taught that Jesus Christ was married for instance, but the Church's stand now on the issue is that we do not know about it and what the past leaders have said was their "opinion". The lady talked about God being created by another God and that's not "official" Church doctrine, is more speculation than anything else in the eyes of the Church.

Questions Religious Handling Romeny Mitt

An LDS evolutionist?

I recently read that in one of the debates, the moderator asked those who don't believe in evolution to "raise their hands." Guess what? Romney did not raise his hand.

And because of this, someone made fun of this through a comic:

First was his changes on abortion and now he seems to be an evolutionist. Is he afraid to share his views that keeps flip-flopping issues?

Great, just what we need - a flip-flopping Mormon presidential candidate. Yes, regardless of what he says or does, he is representing all Mormons every time he opens his mouth and changes his mind on something. The "public" will get a very weird view of LDS members being unable to stand for their beliefs.

Well, not only Mr. Romney is an evolutionist but he also states "I can't image anything more awful than polygamy."

I am pretty sure the orthodox LDS members are ready to vote for him!

In an upcoming interview with CBS News, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney blasts the LDS Church's practice of polygamy in the 19th century -- saying that he can't think of "anything more awful."

"That's part of the history of the church's past that I understand is troubling to people," he says.

The practice, outlawed before 1900, is equally troubling to him, he says.

"I have a great-great grandfather. They were trying to build a generation out there in the desert and so he took additional wives as he was told to do. And I must admit, I can't image anything more awful than polygamy," he told 60 Minutes' Mike Wallace...

I saw that interview a couple of weeks ago and heard him say that. Interesting, to say the least! "..anything more awful"?!? I can think of plenty of things more awful than polygamy.
