I understand Todd's position but we have no proof that Smith was sexually active with any of these wives besides Emma. It's pure speculation and taking into consideration the amount of wives he had, how come we cannot proof beyond a reasonable doubt that he fathered any children?

I think that position is hard to defend. There are affidavids by his wives after his death that said that they were sexually active with Joseph. (that is not to say this goes for all of the marriages.) Also was not the reason for Polygamy was to raise a righteous seed? By this logic he would not be living polygamy correctly if he did not have sex with them. (This also makes one wonder where the children are in these marriages if it was a commandment in polygamy. So far there is no actual children found, just rumors and family stories.) But yes I do think it is logical to assume that sex happened. It was marriage. Polygamy is a mess and it makes it hard to understand and accept at times. Especially the polyandrious and teen marriages, when the average age of marriage in his time in the fonteer was 21 for women.

The evidence is there. Let's not forget that Joseph Smith was doing this in secret for MANY years without the knowledge of the church. Look at this way, this wasn't something Joseph wanted broadcasted hence his reaction to it being published in the local newspaper.
