To answer your questions, She is saying that the Lord taught her directly some of the things in the letter. I believe that some of the un-credited quotes were the direct words of the Lord to her.

In looking over the post I found that the quote tags were use quite well by Persephone because it would be unusual for someone to end a letter and then put "PS" and then an additional "FYI".

Additionally, this Thread is not meant to become a Call and Election Sure Discussion, we already have a Thread about it. By starting this Thread I was merely interested in finding out people's first gut reaction to hearing someone's claim of seeing Jesus Christ.

Lastly, Quasar... you bring up an interesting point about Vision and actually seeing, however keep in mind that both are intertwined at times because you see with your spiritual eyes, as for example the First Vision. Regardless, my interest here is not deciphering what the person saw, but your reaction to the claim of the actual appearance of Jesus Christ to them, or to be specific... the person is not saying they had a dream or was carried away, not they claim to see him just as you see another person.

What a question. I know there are members that say they had personal experiences with the Savior but I don't think any of them have come out solidly to say they've seen him and why would they? That's probably something so sacred that you don't want to be just running around sharing it. But for the question... I don't know how I will react if someone said they saw him, I think I will let the spirit confirm it.

I have had some sacred experiences, to be honest, but have never seen Jesus Christ, well as far as I am aware of. I find if you look at the Bible and Book of Mormon and etc, there has to be a special reason that Jesus Christ would appear to you.Though it is recorded within the Church, that some have seen Jesus walking the halls of his Temples. It is know that the Prophet and etc do hold special meetings in the Temples, in special rooms. As nice as that sounds, it is most likely not something to be concerned about, if it is, the Prophet will reveal it.

I find that God works by priority, for everything, including everyday things and our lives. The Spirit works by the still small voice if you may. When you don't hear that, and it is very important, the message may come by another who is more in tune, or the level might be upgraded. If you are not sensitive to the still small voice, then a auto accident, a friend, a church leader, lightening might come your way. Sorry for dragging this out, often find it difficult to explain what I am thinking. In other words, the less sensitive and connected to God you are, louder and louder forms may happen until you do hear.

There has to a reason for Christ to appear to someone. God the Father only seems to appear to introduce his Son. Jesus Christ appears to make significant changes, and guidance. If Christ appeared to you and did not leave you with a significant altering message or etc, then don't think he would. Of course, like the Brother of Jared, the plan was not to show himself, but he saw his finger because of his faith, then because of it, got to see the rest of him. It is possible, that Christ might show himself to someone, just to show himself, but ?, but that kind of statement would raise a lot of red flags in my mind, unless I felt it by the Spirit, that it was so.

I have shared some of my more personal revelations with a few friends, prompted by the Spirit, only to have them tell me the same thing or similar thing, and the Spirit bore witness that we both had the same light given to us.

I hold the deeper understandings from the Spirit to myself and my wife, I only reveal them when prompted by the Spirit, to do so, otherwise you could cast pearls before Swine, and then get trampled, to loosely relate from the Scriptures I have read.

Normally all we need to know comes by way of Church leaders, the Holy Ghost, or forms there of, including Administering Angels and such. If we are connected spiritually and one with the Godhead, we can know pretty much all we need to know, until we reach a point of having our Calling and Election made sure and needed ordinances need to be performed.

I had an experience of promise when I was like 12 years old, decades before I joined the LDS Church, then was given a message around 20 years ago, which I don't yet fully comprehend, maybe in time. I woke three times from a sleep one nigh, to see and hear the same personage and words, it happened 3 times in fairly short succession. Not totally sure, may of been a vision of Jesus Christ or and an Administering Angel, acting under this command, thinking the latter. Not concerned about who or exactly what, but the feeling, impression and words that were left and the change that happened later. I hold them in no more sacredness then daily light from the Spirit, by the still small voice.

If someone told me they saw Jesus Christ, I would have to wonder, are they blowing their horn trying to seek understanding about what and why. It is not something that should be talked about in public view under most conditions. Most of the deeper things the Spirit has shown me, I would not even share with my Bishop and Stake President, unless prompted by the Spirit. Just because they are a Bishop or Stake President, I have come to learn, even though they are given the gift of discernment in all areas, does not mean they will comprehend or even believe in your personal Revelation, that were meant for you; they may not be as in tune or in tune as the moment.

In my humble opinion anyone going around saying they saw Jesus Christ probably hasn't. Any special experience like that is most likely going to come with a warning - Don't tell anyone....
