American flags were removed from three fire trucks in New York on Tuesday sparking heated discussion on social media and disappointment from union members. Ref. Source 4q.

Why is this a issue. It is the American flag. IF people do not like seeing the American flag on a fire truck, a police car, or flying on a flag pole in front of homes or buildings then leave. This is a free country We are not holding anyone here against their will. If they are offended by our freedoms and that is what the flag represents then find a port get on a ship or head to a airport and get on plane and leave the county.

A New York City Fire Department emergency medical technician was killed and a second was injured after a man stole their ambulance and struck them in the Bronx, authorities say.

"We lost a good woman," Mayor Bill de Blasio, addressing reporters at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx, said of the 44 year-old EMT who was fatally struck.

The second EMT, also a woman, suffered minor injuries, de Blaso said.

FDNY Commissioner Daniel Nigro said the two EMTs were responding to a call in the Soundview section of the Bronx when a passing motorist alerted them to a man riding on the back of the ambulance.

Nigro said the EMTs stopped the ambulance and went to investigate.

The suspect managed to slip into the driver's side and put the ambulance in reverse, injuring one EMT. He then ran over the second EMT, Nigro said. Ref. CNN.

This is sad that a person would do something like this to people who have dedicated their lives to helping and saving the lives of others. I hope the person responsible is dealt with harshly.

At least 12 dead in Bronx apartment building fire, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio says. In a news briefing late Thursday, de Blasio added that additional residents of the building were fighting for their lives with serious injuries. Crews were working in sub-freezing temperatures to extinguish the blaze in the 101-year-old, five-story walk-up apartment building, which is located a block from the Bronx Zoo.
