Comments: I spent about 9 months with Nathan Blalock aka Spyder in the L.A. County Jail, Wayside Max Facility medication dorm located in Valencia, Ca. The sign at the gate says Peter Pitchess Honor Rancho but it houses some of the worst offenders held by L.A. County Jail. He told me that the the motive for the crime was money, Duncan had stolen checks from Ron and had forged and cashed at least one. He told a couple of different stories about that night, they planned to scare Ron and have him sign a bunch of checks that they would cash, or they planned to hold him for ransom. Either way they were drinking beer, hyped up with adrenalin and Nathan just went overboard, instead of scaring him he went into a stabbing frenzy. Before he knew it Ron was dead, Nathan and Duncan went back to the park and rinsed the blood with left over beer and went back to their apartment. Nathan was serving time at tahachapi state prison when he was arrested for murdering Ron and sent to Wayside while awaiting trial. On the surface Nathan was a nice guy, very articulate and polite but even in jail he was always about the money, he was always looking for the next weak inmate to scam, or rob. He loved to play dungeons and dragons. I hope this adds some insight into your discussion, MONEY was the motive.

Comments: Nathan Blalock is definitely still in prison. He received Life Without the Possibility of Parole and nowadays, that sentence means just that. He will never get out of prison, short of some unusual delayed appeal and it appears nothing is pending in the area.

His roommates put together a plan to kidnap him because they wanted money from his parents.---They took him out...they all got drunk...and one of the roommates attacked him because he tripped and R. Baker laughed at him.

Comments: The murder had nothing to do with Ron's spirituality. I knew both Ron and Duncan intimately. I first met Duncan when I was about 10 and he was 14. Later on we spent a lot of time together and he introduced me to Ron, the sweetest, kindest soul. Tragically, it was a joy killing.
