New York City (NYC) is in for some extreme flooding should another Hurricane Sandy hit the metropolis, thanks to the drastic sea level rise and the storm tide's current maximum height, which also means it will be 20 times more likely to flood than it was 170 years ago, a new study bared. Death toll climbs to at least 40 from floods in New York and Northeast as New Jersey reports nearly two dozen additional fatalities amid Ida. At least 12 people died in New York City, Mayor Bill de Blasio said.
