Walter Mondale
Former Vice President Walter Mondale has died at 93, family says. Mondale followed the trail blazed by his political mentor, Hubert H. Humphrey, to the vice presidency, serving under Jimmy Carter from 1977 to 1981. A liberal icon who served Minnesota as attorney general and U.S. Senator, Mondale also made an unsuccessful run for president in 1984. He died Monday in Minneapolis. Ref. USAToday.
