Dress Prom Chinese

I do not understand the big deal about a simple dress. So it is a style of a 17th century Chinese dress big deal get over it. Would we be having this debate if it was a 17th century Victorian dress or a 17th century Japanese dress? Or maybe a 17th century Indian or even Hindu style dress. It is just a dress. Lets stop shaming people for their choice of dress.
