Ak-47 - Page 2

Name: panzer

Comments: The M-16 was not designed to wound: it was designed to literally explode heads with accuracy and bullet fragmentation, the problem is, nowadays, that the bullets are not flying at high enough velocity to reliably fragment and cause the tissue destroying damage they are designed to. It is a very long story why we adopted the M-16 the way it is. As a side note, the AK-47 is often witnessed penetrating to much; the bullets just fly through the target without transferring all of their kinetic energy to the target. Enter, AK-74! this bullet has a steel core, a smaller lead core in the front, and a hollow tip. Upon impact, the bullets tip bends, causing the bullet to yaw and causing tremendous wounds; earning a reputation as a "poison bullets among the Afghans; it always killed.

This was such an upgrade at the time, and still is a very durable and highly desired gun to this day.
