Former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak was freed today after a six-year imprisonment following his overthrow during the Arab Spring.
Mubarak was released from a military hospital in Maadi and is now back at his home in a Cairo suburb, his attorney tells CNN. Ref. CNN.
Okay, don't get me wrong, this was not a good guy and he was a tyrannical strongman, but what he did for his country, mostly, and he was a darn good ally of the US. When you are the leader of a backwards nation that has a lot of really bad men in it sometimes you have to do some bad stuff too. Sherman's march to the sea in our Civil War is proof of that. He had to break the back of the hardcore Islamists who wanted to take over and move Egypt backwards socially about 500 years.?he did what he felt he had to.
