No, I am not "Larry". I felt compelled to reply to Larry because I disagree with some things that he said.
It's also not at all true that "Anyone can say that they thought it up" and have the same claim as I do. Does "Anyone" have a close friend that worked for John Gaeta in 1995 - 1996?
I had a well developed story that I had worked on for years, that several of my very good friends* were closely familiar with as I often discussed it with them and got feedback from them. I had notebooks with notes - but I didn't need it written down.
I had a group of three very close friends, all of whom I would have trusted with my life in their hands, all of whom I would not have hesitated to call if I had found myself in a situation such as having a dead body that I needed to dispose of, etc… One I hung out with on a daily basis, one was my roommate, and the other I surely would have married, had we been homosexual. At my request he wrote an email describing everything he could remember in detail about when/how I developed my story and details about the plot and characters.
Chris even with your friends' backing you will have to prove they took it from you in particular and not the person they bought it from. See, if you want to say this is how the story of the Matrix started then you will need to show the producers took what you wrote and not the other person.
Did you read over the explanation in Matrix Explained? That covers a lot of the angles that isn't mentioned here.
