How To Shop For Your Parents? - Page 2

Thank you EVERYONE! You have know idea how this has helped me in my Christmas-Madness! One week and counting until Christmas and I thought I'd never see the day. I finished up my shopping and using your collective ideas came up with this:

For my mom: A personal coupon packet worth 10 house hold chores, 2 car cleanings, 5 dinners and a year supply of toe nail painting.
A pencil drawing of her as a child (I love to draw.)
I couldn't necessarily afford something tech-wise but I did manage to grab her a few CD's that she will like.
And lastly - A card for 1 free session at the Nail Boutique for a peticure!

For Dad - A personal coupon packet worth 10 car cleanings (He loves cars), 8 dinners and 50 coins to play Pac-man at our local arcade. (His favorite game.)
A hot rods calender.
A tape of me singing some gospel music.
And a CD of Bob Carlisle.

So, what do you think? THANKS so much once again for your tremendous help!

Those are very personable and I think you did a great job, in the card or some other note I would describe why you bought each item or service for them so that they know you gave it special thought.

parents definitely seem to be the hardest to buy for.

I can literally whizz round getting all the family's presents and not struggle at all, until it comes to my parents and in-laws, then it's a different matter.

Maybe it's the age gap thing, I don't know laugh.gif

I've been reading some of the suggestions already on this topic, and I must say I like the gift coupon and pampering Mum ideas, I'll maybe go down that route this year, or maybe try and make a picture frame with one of their special anniversary pictures in it. It seems a better way to put the personal touch into christmas gift giving.
