Christmas Tobago and Trinidad

Like other parts of the world it surrounds shopping and food. Traditionally we have parang music (Spanish) and lots of local dishes well prepared such as pastels. A lot of people open their presents Christmas morning and then visit family the next day; Boxing Day, also a holiday.

I am a bit turned off by the emphasis on the snow effect. I find it kind of silly to be hanging decorations using items that emphasize snow or cold country weather when we are on a Tropical island. For me we should have our own traditional decorations.
