The holidays are almost here and once again I need to decide on a wine for Christmas. Paul said he'd rather have beer than any wine I choose. You see I am not very good at picking a good tasting wine. I want one that is not too sweet but doesn't taste like vinegar either. I like a strong taste of grape and so does Paul. If anyone has some knowledge in this area I would be pleased to listen. If all this wasn't enough I also don't want to spend a fortune on a wine. I know I'm being picky but I really want to show everyone that I can find a good wine.
Although it's a little more fruity than some others, Zinfandel (red) is a good choice. I couldn't tell you about price. White Zinfandel (pink or rose') is a little less fruity and a little more dry than regular Zin. If you have local winery near you, you could go get some samples. Another option would be to contact a local wine tasting club for info.

(I quit drinking several years ago so these are things I used to know about )
Thanks Farseer I'll give it a try. There is a winery not too far away from me I will find out if they have taste testing. I'll let you know how it turns out. Thanks again.
When I used to drink, my favorite was White Zinfandel which, as Farseer has said, isn't white at all. All of my friends loved it too. It is probably a good choice because it isn't too heavy a taste. There are many good choices of White Zinf. I can't remember the names of them all, but I know I used to enjoy Sutter or was it Sutter's Home or something like that...Sutter something. It's been a while since I drank.
