Ward Boundary Changes - Page 2

Today my ward is being split. We have been told in advance that this is what is happening. Our ward and another ward are meeting together, and apparently two will become three. We were split about 6 1/2 years ago as well. I have mixed feelings. No question it is time. We have been the largest ward in the stake for about 3 years at least now. We are too big to really be a close community any more. I don't know most of the people. I know the names, but can't put them to the faces. So, in some ways I am glad to have this happen. However, I will miss the close relationships with those that live in the communities that will leave our ward.

When we split last time, some of our towns were added to a branch that also met in our building making them a ward. This time, that ward and our ward will lose communities to form a third unit. I don't know if it will be a ward or a branch.

I wonder if all three units will meet in our building or if something has been rented closer to the new unit. I know three units in one building isn't unusual, but our parking lot is already a problem without overlapping meetings. We don't have enough parking spaces to have two units meet at once. Well, I guess I will find that all out this afternoon. I have prayed that I can be helped to accept the changes that are coming. With the last split I was just newly reactivated so it didn't really affect me too much on an emotional level. This time it will be different.

I am excited, though for the opportunity to be involved in the work that comes from having a small ward. In large wards, they sometiimes have to search for callings to give people. In a small ward, they search for people to give callings.

Changes Boundary Ward

Congrats Tenaheff you are one of the few that enjoys or at least prays to understand / accept change, and change means progress I hope you like the 'new' membership, keep us up to date. One of the things I have found that makes the transition go a lot easier is if the leadership prepares, prepares, prepares... for instance... are the rooms designated, are all the callings filled, where will the new nursery be?

Tena, I'm sure you will enjoy the ward being 'smaller' now wink.gif. Yes JB, preparation is a escencial part in all things. Last sunday my new branch moved to its own building (a rented place) it was really tough because it was extremely dirty and the toilets were not functioning (and still not). So I think preparation is extremely important. undecided.gif

Comments: We just had ward boundary changes in our stake with an additional ward made. I am RS president and hope that I can make everyone feel welcomed. I'm trying to come with an idea of a little gift for the new sisters. Any ideas? Thanks
