Comments: Like I have said before, everything that seems good here, is tainted by corrupt practices as is now revealed in the HDC program. It is just the common expectation here and is associated with the personal financial greed syndrome that is now well established within our politics and throughout the nation as a whole. The question with regards to building homes for the needy. What is the point of wasting so much public money in building so many homes for citizens who are struggling to make two ends meet and cannot afford to pay the rent.Moreover,in many cases citizens are not suitable as tenants which is reflected the manner it which many of these properties are neglected or vandalized. This is just again, a waste taxpayers money and another money spinner, and an another avenue of government corruption .Shh, shh. Don't publish this.You have to be quiet about this sort of problem here otherwise you could find repercussions against the media. From you know who. Any local government in power here.

Title: Living in DIY shacks

Comments: I am dismayed and horribly ashamed of the picture of a DIY build home constructed mainly of galvanized sheets shown in today's Express together with the article entitled 'On the verge of destruction'. When I write letters of concern about my fellow countrymen that reflects poverty and act of neglect by our politicians, scenes like this justify my comments. We are supposed to be one of the wealthiest nations in the Caribbean and has in the past five decades wasted trillions of dollars and much of it still remain unaccounted for,which obviously left the our poorer and deprived citizens to pay the price by having to live in shacks and a lack of essential amenities in sparsely inhabited or developed areas as displayed. I have said it before, with the amount of dollars earned in the past from our oil and gas resources after over 55 years of independence all of our citizens should by now be living in comfortable homes with all the essential amenities supplied. It all amounts to the damage our citizens bring upon themselves by voting for men and women here to represent them who are suffering from personal greed and have no intentions whatsoever of improving the living conditions of the poor and deprived .Apparently they are still using outside latrines in Laventille which is a stronghold of one of our well established political parties. If our politicians truly had compassion,morals and a sense on responsibility then no one here would be living in such shacks in undeveloped areas in 2017.

Why the HDC coming with all these schemes about buying bonds from them and then you get preference for housing? So people who waiting for years have to buy in as well?
