What is your understanding of the difference between Maintenance & Affiliation Warrants in Trinidad & Tobago?
There is an explanation of Maintenance and the law from the judiciary's site:
QUOTE Maintenance is the payment of a lump sum or periodical payments of money for the minor child/children of the family. Maintenance payments include the cost of day-to-day living and general upkeep of the minor child/children. And can also include educational cost. Ref. Source 8w

Isn't affiliation like maintenance but has a different protocol attached to it? I mean the person has been called up but there isn't established proof as yet that the person in question is the parent of the child?

I do not understand how someone could know they have a child and not pay nothing for them to have food and a life. You really have to be heartless to not at least contribute to the bringing up of the child YOU help to bring into the world.
