Title: Squandering the nation's wealth

Comments: The utilization of over $1000 dollars within four days by a politician here to make official phone calls is unbelievable. We are suppose to be tightening our belts and yet as reflected in this case which has come to light, government officials are apparently still squandering Treasury funds,in a Nilly willy fashion. It is obvious from this case that no restrictions have been placed on our politicians to control or limited their spending power when dealing with public matters,and if the were they are being ignored. The other ridiculous aspect this case is the charges added to the bill by 'whoever', called roaming usage of over $50.000. Bearing in mind how many official telephone calls must be made by Civil servants and other government officials on a daily basis it looks like we are still in the business of creating overnight millionaires here, despite being in a recession.It all amounts to squandering the nation's wealth.
